Senior Software Engineer
Architect and build the core systems that power deterministic legal automation. Work directly with the founder to design scalable, maintainable systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core FTL Platform subsystems
- Architect scalable systems supporting multiple legal verticals
- Collaborate with Legal Knowledge Engineer to translate rules into code
- Build robust testing frameworks for deterministic output
- Establish engineering best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, incident response)
- Mentor future engineering hires
- Own major features from design to deployment
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend language (TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Go, Rust preferred)
- Experience building state machines, rule engines, or workflow systems
- Strong understanding of database design and distributed systems
- Proven track record shipping production systems at scale
- Experience with modern dev practices (Git, CI/CD, testing)
- Excellent communication skills
- Bonus: Legal tech or formal verification experience
Compensation
$140,000 - $180,000
